#3 CAPTAIN PEG (7-2) was super impressive when giving loads of weight away to the field last time. She did have a -4 claimer aboard to help with that weight burden, but she was nevertheless impressive in the way she quickened from behind. Her 11 draw is a tough one over this CD, but she has a good turn-of-foot and would likely be dropped out anyway, so at level weights now I make her the one to beat.
#2 FEATHER BOA (18-10) has always had a big reputation and she’s delivered on it in recent runs. She gets a plum draw from the 1 box and she’s the biggest danger to her stable companion. Big runner.
#1 RIVER QUERARESS (16-1) has changed stables since her last start. I’ve opposed all the runners who’ve left the Peter stable in their first starts for new stables and none have won first time out yet. However, this is a good filly, who’s Grade 1 placed and 16-1 is a ridiculously big price considering her ability.
I don’t like anything else here.
