I don’t bet on staying races, but I must say I have been waiting for #2 NOTHINGELSEMATTERS (1-1) to make a step up in trip. He lacks early pace in his races, but he has a really good turn-of-foot for a low class handicapper and that should stand him in good stead as he goes over more ground in time. In fact I get the impression he could still increase his rating dramatically as his stamina gets drawn out. He’s made dramatic late surges in both his recent starts over shorter and is surely crying for this step up in trip. Strictly on form he doesn’t work out a good thing and his price of 1-1 is far too clever to have a strike at, but I have to decide what to do in my tote bets and I have made him a banker.
