#6 RUSSIAN ROCK (15-10) has been highly tried throughout his career, inluding being a Guineas winner. He’s unfortunately a difficult horse to trust though, especially as a short priced Fav here. However, the key to this race might lay in the fact that he should be able to dictate the pace as he likes to do without too much harrasment from anything else early and that may allow him to keep rolling to the line. I don’t fully trust him and I certainly won’t be backing him, but he’s the one to beat.
#3 KAILENE (7-1) has been rested after racing over further in Grade 1 company. She returns to calmer waters here and both her wins have in fact been over this trip. Her stable has started coming to form in Cape Town and she looks very competitive here if not in need of the run.
I don’t think it’s impossible to get past the two mentioned, but I’m going to take my chances with just them in my tote bets.
