A Sales race and these races are usually quite thin in terms of potential winners despite the field size. I think that is the case again.
#6 PIROSHKA (28-10) is holding his form well and he’s the highest rated runner here off a mark of 99. I thought in his last start over 1400m that he didn’t quite get home over the last bit of the race, but that may no matter in a race where I think only a few can win. He’s the one to beat.
#7 ROYAL AUSSIE (4-1) is the one I think is best suited to this course and distance and when I first glanced at the race I made him first choice. However, I need too know that the Snaith stable is in fact not incubating a virus of some sorts and earlier results should help in clarifying that. If the stable runners do perform, ROYAL AUSSIE will be elevated to first choice for me.
#’s 2 and 11 are the only other two runners I think can win here.
